Cold Mayhem
This is a story about one Penguin and one Yeti, both leaders of lands across the northern plains. After a disagreement on land that was once owned by another clan, they have chosen for a battle to the death for the rights of the land. Who will survive?
Cold Mayhem is a wild game of “Hit and Run” tactics and cold PVE. The player throws snowballs against an artificial intelligence to make them cold. Once a player’s health bar depletes, they will freeze, shatter, and respawn until either one of the character’s lives are all gone. The game provides obstacles for the user to hide behind and evade the enemy before they are hit by the snowball.
Controls for the characters are as followed:
W: Forward, A: Left, S: Down, D: Right, Space: Jump, L-Shift: Sprint
Mouse: Look Around, LMB Hold: Charge Throw, LMB Release: Throw

Hey its pretty cool little FPS snowball game. Theres two characters and two maps. The characters being a yeti (a slower tank) and a penguin (faster build). I enjoyed playing as the penguin mostly because I like agile combat over slow tank combat but I feel as though the tank is just a tad too slow and the penguin was fun to play as and I felt it was pretty solid.
The charge time could maybe be shorter for a further throw and once it meets the full range throw threshold, it could start becoming more powerful for each charge. Trading reaction time for power.
As for the maps, the sky boxes were pretty impressive and I never felt like the maps were too small or too big. Never had an issue finding the opponent or dying too fast. It feels pretty fair. The music and sounds were decent and fitting for the vibes of the setting; fun.
Upgrades could make things more interesting as well, like more speed, faster charge, stronger attacks, greater range (sniper-like shots, maybe icecicles or something cute like that) and maybe a waypoint power up that shows where the enemy is.
Thats all my input. Pretty solid, fun and doesn't feel janky for what it is.
I think that a reticle could improve the feeling of the game, and maybe place the power meter beside it vertically, along with increasing the distance of the minimum power throw. I'd also change up the menu buttons a little. The other issue is that the yeti and penguin models clip when they dash, so perhaps a 3rd person camera would improve this. Most importantly, add instructions if you can. I didn't know that I had to hold LMB to get more power until like a minute in. I do think the game feel is pretty good overall. Keep improving and you'll make something great someday.
Attached is an example of how to improve the menu buttons. I just used free fonts, images and the mouse to make this, and threw it together in 10 minutes.I feel that an example is best when trying to improve visuals.
The penguin is terrifying! But it's waddle is adorable. It's pretty hard to win as the Yeti. Maybe if it had more health it would do a bit better against that quick penguin. Levels looked great and it was pretty fun!
The Yeti does a bit extra damage to try and adjust for this! Though the penguin is a tad fast. Thanks for the input!
